For event organisers

What is Sdelai?

Sdelai offers everyone a chance to become a charity fundraiser. A fundraiser is a person who undertakes a certain activity in order to raise donations in support of a good cause or for charity. Events like yours offer people am opportunity to challenge themselves and a great talking point. Athletes initiate their fundraising campaigns and raise donations among their friends and colleagues. The money collected is transferred to a charity chosen by the athlete.

What do we need your platform for?

All major international marathons and other public sporting events have strong links to charity fundraising. Annually, over 30 000 runners take part in London Marathon. In 2015, the event raised £54 million. Since its inception in 1981, London Marathon raised over £770 million. For nine years running, London Marathon holds the record of the world’s largest one-day fundraising event.

An increasing number of sports and mass events in Russia are adopting the best world’s practices in promoting healthy lifestyle and social values and supporting local charities.

The most striking example of this is the Running Hearts Run which had over 10 000 participants in 2017 and raised 50 million Roubles in donations, a record for the Russian charity sector. Race runners who created fundraising pages on Sdelai raised over 1 million Roubles of the total amount.

We encourage all of your participants to become fundraisers. Your event can become a fantastic focal point for raise money for local charities and to support those in need. In turn, this will increase public awareness of your event and provide you with great marketing material for further development.

What if our event is already raising funds directly for a charity?

If you are already raising funds for a specific charity, the donations will come from the participants and sponsors of your event, a big but limited number of people. Our platform can help you to multiply the number of donors, where each participant will become a fundraiser in his or her own right. Individual runners can tell their circle of friends about their run and an amount of money they would like to raise in support of a charity, and ask their friends to donate. This will significantly increase number of donations and public awareness of your event and charity.

What do the organisers need to do to make this work?

All you need to do as organisers is to publicise the fundraising opportunities to your participants.
We will provide you with a comprehensive information pack which you can use in communication with participants.

Participants decide for themselves whether or not to get involved with the fundraising. Each participant creates a fundraising page and sets a target amount they wish to raise. They promote their fundraising effort themselves in order to reach that target. Donations are accumulated in a separate account held by the platform and are transferred directly to the charity at the end of each calendar month.

The rights and obligations of the platform providers and users (campaigners and donors) are fully set out in Terms and Conditions. For further details of the relationship between the platform and charities please visit the relevant site sections.
